Progressive Spirituality and Activism
with Wade Clark Roof

Well-known commentator on U.S. religious trends, Wade Clark Roof joins us to discuss the findings of a new national study on progressive activists and their agendas. How is religion as traditionally understood changing? What does this say about America, and how does Southern California fit into the picture? Roof has been analyzing trends in religion for years, crditing the new religious diversity to a generation of baby boomers in his 1993 bestselling book, A Generation of Seekers - and revisiting this population in 2001 with Spiritual Marketplace: Baby Boomers and the Remaking of American Religion. The author of eight books, he is Professor of Religion and Society at the University of California, Santa Barbara.    Forum

Death and Dying, Part 1
with Zelda Kennedy
We cannot be reminded enough that grief, which may be expressed as anger, guilt, sorrow and depression, is sometimes unpredictable and does not occur in an orderly sequence. Stages of grief fi nd ways to assault our hearts powerfully and unexpectedly. We should be reminded continually that grief impacts the very source of life and often grief leaves us feeling hopeless and confused. Death of a loved one or loss of a relationship can be a traumatic experience. When someone dies or someone leaves, their relatives and friends can be left with unresolved issues of grief and feelings of loss. These feelings are both perfectly natural and healthy. However, they can also cause probems if they go unresolved, and reaching closure can often times be diffi cult. Sometimes one needs help to get through the grieving process. This two-session series will provide ways to assist in the process and hopefully lead to the establishing of small groups.    Sweetland Hall

Being The Light!
Whether you have kids or simply feel youthful, all are welcome. For more information, contact Isabel Leus at
ileus@allsaints-pas.org at 626.583.2733.

This service is for anyone who wishes to worship in a more casual environment, in a space where kids are a part of the entire service, and in a more interactive, participatory, and multigenerational atmosphere. The 45-minute service is a regular Eucharist that is a moving, spiritual experience for everyone. It is highly participatory, involving children, youth, and adults in all parts of the service including ushering, readings, acolytes, etc. Our hope is that the space and the style are accessible to each person that comes and invites everyone to feel God’s unconditional love and presence. All are invited to attend and we encourage you to invite your friends, family and neighbors to come as well. For more information, please contact Isabel Leus at 626.583.2733 or
