COUPLEHOOD AS A SPIRITUAL PATH (A NEW WAY TO LOVE) You may have had the sense that your couplehood is more about growth and healing than just romantic feelings, but yet have not known how to fully move in that direction.
This six week program, led by Bruce & Francine Crapuchettes, is an educational adaptation of the book, “Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples” by Harville Hendrix, which has been on the New York Times best seller list 14 times. This course is about learning dialogical skills that are designed to radically transform your relationship, improve your relationship with your partner, dissolve long-standing conflicts, use your relationship to heal childhood wounds, use your relationship to grow into your full potential, and deepen connection and intimacy.
DIVORCE SUPPORT GROUP An open, ongoing support group for people dealing with issues surrounding divorce. Persons at any stage of separation or divorce are welcome. The group meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Junior High room of Regas House. Call or email Ana Camacho to be added to the email list.
When someone dies, it is helpful to know that All Saints Church will celebrate life in the face of death, whether or not the deceased was a member of the church. For assistance, information and guidelines, please contact the office of Pastoral Care and Spiritual Growth.
LABYRINTH MINISTRY The Labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool. The path winds throughout and becomes a mirror of the way we live our lives. It touches our sorrows and releases our joys. All are encouraged to walk with an open heart and open mind, when the labyrinth is available at various times throughout the year. Call Ana Camacho or Susan Adkins for the 2010-11 labyrinth schedule.
Lay Guidance Ministry assists members of our faith community who are experiencing stressful life events such as divorce, unemployment, death of a loved one, or relationship conflicts. Trained lay guidance ministers work with parishioners in a confidential setting to help them manage these events and the accompanying emotions. Lay guidance ministers are supervised by licensed mental health professionals. This ministry is a short-term volunteer program, limited to ten free sessions, and is not intended for persons with serious psychiatric problems or longer term needs. If you are in a time of need or challenge, you may meet with or speak directly to a member of the clergy at 626.792.1172. You may also simply call the confidential Direct Request Line at 626.583.2706. Your call will be received by the intake coordinator who will make an appointment to meet with you in person and will then connect you with one of the guidance ministers who will fully and deeply discuss your concerns with you in confidence.
Myasthenia Gravis is usually an acquired disorder that results in muscle weakness resulting from an autoimmune attack against the nerve-muscle junction. This group supports the health, family and spiritual needs of those living with Myasthenia Gravis through sharing and education. Family members and friends are also encouraged to attend. Meetings are from 10 a.m. to noon the third Tuesday of each month in the Guild Room.
During meditation, participants allow themselves to settle in silence. They sit in fellowship in the All Saints Chapel, resting in the stillness of the Spirit. They listen; keep watch; let the healing, transformative presence work its mystery. Meetings are Mondays from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. in the Chapel.
THE NAMI FAMILY-TO-FAMILY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM This nationally acclaimed free, twelve-session program to educate, train and support family members of severely mentally ill persons. Pre-register now or at any time throughout the year. Class size is limited and overflow will have priority admittance to the next available class. Minimum age is fourteen. Seasonal classes meet Mondays from 7-9:30 p.m. in the Forum.
PASTORAL CARE COUNSELING Individual counseling is provided by staff, assisting clergy, and retired clergy and is coordinated by the Pastoral Care Office. If needed, referrals for psychological counseling are given after initial consultation with clergy.
PRAYER REQUESTS Prayer requests can be submitted on the prayer cards in the pew racks at church, on the All Saints Church website or by calling 626.583.2707 to leave a message that will be picked up by the Pastoral Care office. If you are calling on a Sunday between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., you may call the church office at 626.796.1172 and someone will personally take your request. Requests may also be submitted by email to prayers@allsaints-pas.org.
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION The art of listening both to the person seeking spiritual direction and to God's Spirit. Once a month, a trained person guides and supports another person in the search for a deeper and closer connection with God, in the context of a unique, trusting one-on-one relationship.
This group supports God's people in their vocational lives through regular opportunities to share career, job, and work issues and ideas. Our agenda is created and guided by the needs of participants and may address work/life (im)balance, un(der)employment, vocational uncertainty, burnout/overwork, and related issues. We tell our stories, read and discuss articles and books, and invite guest speakers to share with us. Meetings are open to all on the first and third Sunday of the month from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Seminar Room.
We are committed to treating equally all couples presenting themselves for the rite of Marriage. At All Saints Church we understand Holy Matrimony to be a physical and spiritual union, entered into within the community of faith, by mutual consent of heart, mind and will, and with intent that it be lifelong. Our commitment to the sacrament of marriage being celebrated within the community of faith informs our policy of offering weddings for members of the parish.
A healing Eucharist service is held every Wednesday at noon in the Chapel. Prayers for healing are also offered during the Eucharist every Sunday at the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services in the Chapel and Baptistry. |
